Orphans and Vulnerable Children Social Protection Project



Our project framework guides our strategies and activities to enable us achieve our goal to increase access to priority health, educational, social protection and welfare services by children affected by HIV/AIDS.

What we do for children & their families ?
  • Identify and profile Orphan and Vulnerable Children and their families
  • Build life-skills & leadership skills of  children
  • Build capacity of ‘care-givers’ at family/community level 
  • Linkages to social entitlements and services, primarily through the District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit(DAPCU) led ‘single window system’
What we do for service providers and civil society?
  • Map resources and situation in each district  and come out with District Resource Directory
  •  Build capacity of ‘care-givers’ at family/community level
  • Training of Counselors and Nurses
  • Facilitate  Child Protection Policy
What we do for inter-sectoral coordination and sustainability?
  • Train government mid- level staff on orphans and vulnerable children issues, facilitate front line worker training.
  •  Facilitate sensitization of different departments on orphans and vulnerable children, using children’s voices.
  • Leverage resources from the public and private sector for orphans and vulnerable children's needs.
  • Mainstreaming children affected by AIDS and orphans and vulnerable children with different departments and corporate social responsibility programs.
